The Liberty Chapter of the National Honor Society is proud to welcome **12 new members** into our ranks! Like a Hogwarts-style tapping ceremony, students were officially “chosen” during their classes and received their acceptance letters soon after. Membership in NHS is a true honor, recognizing students who embody the four pillars: **Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character**. ✨ Our newest members will be formally inducted on **Thursday, February 19, 2026**, in the **LHS Auditorium**. The Liberty Fire Department visited Mrs. Collins’ second-grade classroom on Friday to share what it’s like to serve the community as a first responder. Firefighters talked with students about their daily responsibilities, training, and the importance of helping others in times of need.
As the presentation wrapped up, the department surprised students with gifts, adding an extra moment of excitement to the visit. The items were donated to the department by Coca-Cola.
Captain Lucarell said visits like this are especially meaningful. “Days like today, getting to give back to the community and connect with students, are some of the things I love most about my job,” he said.
The visit gave students a firsthand look at a career in public service while reinforcing the importance of community partnerships and generosity.

Our Art 1 students in Ms. Frank’s class are sharing creativity and kindness this winter! 🎨❄️
Students designed and carved their own images into linoleum blocks, then printed multiple copies to create handmade greeting cards for the residents at Shepherd of the Valley. They made enough so everyone in the home will receive a Winter Greeting card, spreading warmth and cheer through student-made art.

Seven of our 7th and 8th grade students proudly represented Liberty at the STEM Goes Red for Girls conference at NEOMED!
They spent the day exploring STEM career pathways, engaging in hands-on activities, and learning about the powerful impact women have in science, technology, engineering, and medicine. 👩🔬💡
We are so proud of their curiosity, leadership, and passion for discovery. Keep shining, Leopards! 🐾✨
