Liberty Local Schools earned an overall rating of 3 stars on the 2025–2026 Ohio School Report Card, improving from 2.5 stars in 2024–2025 and meeting state standards. All three district buildings also increased their overall ratings, with results highlighting gains in student growth, closing educational gaps, and preparing students for opportunities after graduation.
“We are proud to see that Liberty Local Schools has demonstrated growth across the district compared with last year’s Ohio School Report Card,” said Superintendent Brian Knight. “Our overall rating of three stars reflects the dedication of our students, staff and families, as well as the progress we are making together.”
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s report cards provide families with information about district and school performance across several measures. Liberty’s results show meaningful improvement while identifying areas where continued support is needed.

At the district level, one of the largest gains came in College, Career, Workforce and Military Readiness, which increased from 1 star to 3 stars. The district’s readiness percentage rose from 46.2% to 63.3%, an increase of 17.1 percentage points.
Liberty also improved from 3 stars to 4 stars in Gap Closing, exceeding state standards in that component. Graduation remained a strength at 4 stars. The four-year graduation rate reported on the report card increased from 93.4% to 94.9%.

Although the district’s Achievement rating remained at 2 stars, its Performance Index percentage increased from 66.3% to 68.9%. This measure accounts for student performance across achievement levels on state tests.
E. J. Blott Elementary School recorded the largest overall rating increase among Liberty’s buildings, moving from 2.5 stars to 3.5 stars. Achievement improved from 2 stars to 3 stars, while Gap Closing increased from 3 stars to the highest possible rating of 5 stars. Early Literacy remained at 2 stars.
William S. Guy Middle School increased its overall rating from 3.5 stars to 4 stars. Its Progress rating rose from 3 stars to 4 stars, reflecting stronger student growth, while Gap Closing remained at 4 stars. Achievement declined from 3 stars to 2 stars, showing that improving overall test performance remains an area for attention.
Liberty High School improved from 2.5 stars to 3 stars overall. College, Career, Workforce and Military Readiness increased from 1 star to 3 stars, and Gap Closing improved from 2 stars to 3 stars. Graduation remained at 4 stars, while Achievement and Progress each remained at 2 stars.
