Liberty Schools Robotics Club Sponsorship Request – World Competition Dear Community Member/Business Owner, Throughout this school year, Liberty Schools has participated in the Vex Robotics Competition at both the Middle School and the High School Level. Our teams have competed very well, and recently, one of our middle school teams received an invitation to the World Robotics Competition in Saint Louis!
We are very proud of the team’s accomplishments throughout this season and are excited to attend this event. This season, the team has designed and built a robot to perform various tasks in the Vex IQ competition “Mix and Match.” A description of how the game is played can be found at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RN-UyJbe_yg.
Throughout the season, the team of four 8th-grade students have designed, built, and redesigned their robot and programming to improve their robot to perform tasks worth higher point values and to score more efficiently in the time constraints of the matches. As part of the competition, they have recorded their designs and daily work in an engineering notebook and communicated to judges about how their robot and programming function in team interviews.
Here are some of the team’s accomplishments: • Ranked #1 in Ohio in the Skills competition by 95 points • Placed 2nd in Ohio in the Teamwork Challenge • Awarded the “Think Award” for their #1 in Ohio autonomous programming • Won a state qualifying award at every competition this season Aside from the accolades, these students have taken ownership of their work and developed skills that not only help them to be successful at robotics competitions, but in the workplace and in life as well.
To attend the event, we are seeking donations to cover competition registration, travel-related expenses (which are piling up quickly), and other costs to make the event memorable for the students. If you or your business is inclined to donate, here are suggested donation amounts:
