Liberty Local Schools/Quick Med Survey

Liberty Local Schools and Quick Med are working together to open a school-based health clinic on the Blott side of our elementary building.  School-based health initiatives will help our district ensure students are in school, healthy, and ready to learn.  By collaborating with Quick Med and other community organizations, Liberty Local Schools will be better able to meet the needs of the whole child through school-based physical and mental health services.

In order to set this program up for success, we ask that you please complete this short survey to help us determine what the needs are in our community. We look forward to building this partnership to better support our students!

STEM: BOXLIGHT 3-D printer

The Liberty Local School District recently partnered with the STEM-based company Boxlight enhancing the technology in the STEM and Engineering departments. Boxlight came to the district Tuesday and demonstrated the two new 3-D printers, an interactive Boxlight monitor, Boxlight Labdiscs, and digital lesson plan software. The 5th-8th grade STEM, high school engineering, and robotics classes will utilize this new technology.

“Creating hands-on learning experiences is so important for inspiring students with all the possibilities of what they could do. When we go to schools and give these training, we empower teachers to successfully utilize their new tools so that they can make the biggest impact in their classrooms,” Hannah Olson, MimioSTEM Product Manager.

“It allows me to bring new technology to the classroom and provide students inquiry based learning, so they get to lead themselves through discovery. They get to work on real-world issues and find ways to adapt to solve scientific problems,” Cameron Hefner, 5-8 STEM teacher.

Superintendent's Message

August 30, 2021

Greetings,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! What a wonderful sight it has been to see our students return to school on a regular 5-day in-person schedule. As we are all aware, the challenges to remain in school without delays or closures remains and Liberty will continue to be vigilant in monitoring our buildings and extracurricular activities for any concerns.

Over the past months, we have developed opportunities for families and staff to provide feedback on how we move forward on various issues. Your feedback is valuable, as we cannot work in silos. It truly does take a village to raise a child.

In addition to our district priority goals for Literacy and Math, Family Engagement is a high priority.  We will soon be recruiting families to participate in committees in both the Prk-6 and 7-9 buildings. These committees or Action Teams for Partnerships (ATP) will work with the school district and the Liberty community, and will meet throughout the school year to collaborate on ensuring we are equitably addressing the needs of ALL of our families.

If you are interested in becoming a member of an ATP, or in hearing more about what is involved, please access the following survey: https://forms.gle/kkiTcTg9Mbhqtc97A

Best wishes on this new school year!

Andrew J. Tommelleo, Ed.D
