Superintendent's Message

September 2022

Greetings Leopard families!

There is a crispness to the morning air that signals summer has passed, fall is approaching and the new school year has begun. Taking a line from Robert Frost’s Nothing Gold Can Stay,   “Then leaf subsides to leaf,” change is inevitable. Liberty has implemented several changes to begin the 2022-2023 school year. Staff, administration, classrooms, coaches, rules and procedures have changed. The most significant change is the new, tiered system of instruction for grades 7-12, with 5-6 soon to be developed. A successful implementation requires consistency and transparency of adherence to procedures, administration and staff follow through, and ultimately accountability from students and families. Our goal is to provide pathways for every student to be successful with appropriate support and interventions in place when needed.

For the past year, we have also been developing an outreach program to build stronger partnerships with the Liberty business community. The “Paws Partnership” has been designed and distribution has begun throughout the business community to join Liberty Local Schools in recognizing students of the month. Opportunities are also available for businesses and outside groups to help support our new capital campaign goals for art, music, STEAM and robotics, and athletics. There is much to celebrate as we move forward into the new year. Our district goals to improve literacy and math have shown that hard work from staff and students is paying off as we’ve experienced increases in eleven areas of growth in our end-of-year state tests. Future family engagement activities will provide resources for families to support literacy and math, as we are all in this together!

We are all accountable for the successes of our students and we cannot do the work alone.

Thank you for your support in making a stronger Liberty village!
