This course is an elective in which students will learn the basics of criminal law, juvenile justice, torts, consumer law, family law, housing law and individual rights and liberties. Students are able to analyze cases and discuss legal issues through debate and current topic activities. Through a mock trial at the end of the trimester, the students are able to present what they have learned. This trial involves students role playing as jurors, witnesses, lawyers, a bailiff, a plaintiff and a defendant in a civil or criminal trial.
