Open Enrollment Application Procedures for the 2024-2025 School Year

Liberty Local Schools is accepting open enrollment applications for students in grades:
K, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 for the 2024-2025 school year.

Who:  Non-Liberty residents who wish to enroll their children in the Liberty Local School District

When: The open enrollment window opens on Friday, March 1, 2024 and will close on Thursday, March 28, 2024.  Applications may be downloaded on the district’s website. Applications will also be available for pick up at the Blott Guy PK-6 office from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and at the Liberty High School office from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Completed applications must be returned in person by the custodial parent/guardian to the school buildings no later than 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024.  

 

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

  • You must complete a separate application for each student you wish to enroll.

  • You will not be able to fill out an application on site if you choose to pick them up.

  • A completed application should be returned to the Blott Guy PK-6 office or the Liberty High School office.  Custodial parents/guardians must return the application.

  • Applications are prioritized first by criteria listed on the application form (A-F), then by date and time of return.

  • Students must be currently enrolled in their residential school district.

  • Open enrollment in the Liberty School District is open to students who reside within the state of Ohio.

  • Applicants must annually reapply.

  • Enrollment will be on a limited basis for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • Applicants will receive written notice of the district’s decision by April 30, 2024. 

  • If you are accepted, you will complete the district’s enrollment process.  You may also be required to have your resident district complete a form providing proof that your child has been registered as a student in your home district.

  • Transportation of students accepted under open enrollment shall be the sole responsibility of their parents/guardians.

  • If your child wishes to participate in athletics, please review the following Ohio High School Athletic Association Guidelines:

    • Incoming 7th , 8th and 9th Graders:  Must have received passing grades in the immediately preceding grading period in a minimum of five (5) subjects which enrolled.

    • Incoming 10th and 11th Graders:  Ineligible for the last 50% of the season in the sporting event which the student participated during the 12 month period immediately preceding the transfer to the Liberty Local Schools.
      Note: Cheerleading is considered a part of athletics.

A COMPLETED APPLICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

  • Immunization records

  • Birth certificate

  • Social Security card

  • Last report card (if high school student, transcripts must also be included)

  • (2) Proofs of residency (must be within past 30 days)

  • Proof of identity for custodial parent or guardian (bring your actual photo ID and a copy of the ID)

  • Copy of IEP, ETR, 504 (if applicable)

  • Custody papers (if applicable) to include: first page, custody award seal and last page showing court docket stamp

  • Proof of employment (only if you work in Liberty Township)

Each application must have its own set of copies listed above. Copies will not be made in the offices.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.
