Liberty Local Schools/Quick Med Survey

Liberty Local Schools and Quick Med are working together to open a school-based health clinic on the Blott side of our elementary building.  School-based health initiatives will help our district ensure students are in school, healthy, and ready to learn.  By collaborating with Quick Med and other community organizations, Liberty Local Schools will be better able to meet the needs of the whole child through school-based physical and mental health services.

In order to set this program up for success, we ask that you please complete this short survey to help us determine what the needs are in our community. We look forward to building this partnership to better support our students!

STEM: BOXLIGHT 3-D printer

The Liberty Local School District recently partnered with the STEM-based company Boxlight enhancing the technology in the STEM and Engineering departments. Boxlight came to the district Tuesday and demonstrated the two new 3-D printers, an interactive Boxlight monitor, Boxlight Labdiscs, and digital lesson plan software. The 5th-8th grade STEM, high school engineering, and robotics classes will utilize this new technology.

“Creating hands-on learning experiences is so important for inspiring students with all the possibilities of what they could do. When we go to schools and give these training, we empower teachers to successfully utilize their new tools so that they can make the biggest impact in their classrooms,” Hannah Olson, MimioSTEM Product Manager.

“It allows me to bring new technology to the classroom and provide students inquiry based learning, so they get to lead themselves through discovery. They get to work on real-world issues and find ways to adapt to solve scientific problems,” Cameron Hefner, 5-8 STEM teacher.

Superintendent's Message

Greeting Liberty Families!

We are making the turn towards the 2nd half of our school year. The frigid temps and snow outside indicate we are well into the school year. However, it won’t last long, and warmer conditions will soon come. Fall sports have transitioned to winter, and soon the crack of a ball bat and runners on the track will announce the coming of Spring. What hasn’t changed is the vigilance that comes with your children’s health, safety, and welfare. Liberty will continue to follow the county and state health department guidance on COVID. We will also continue to educate and support our children and families on the healthy and appropriate use of social media, as our partnerships with local mental health agencies and law enforcement have endeavored to do so. We are hopeful that our school-based health clinic, in collaboration with Quick Med, will become a reality before the start of the 2022-2023 school year.

We are excited to see our Engineering, Robotics, and STEM resources increase, which will provide opportunities for all of our students. Liberty’s Esports program has joined Esports Ohio, and we hope to see our Esports athletes competing soon. Liberty students PK-12 have much to look forward to and explore as they pursue their “E”…Enrolled, Employed, or Enlisted.

Students can’t be what they can’t see. Our goal in Liberty is to provide every child with exposure to new experiences that will help influence their career decisions.

“Carpe Diem”

Andrew J. Tommelleo, Ed.D
