Liberty Schools to implement new dismissal procedures on Friday

Dismissal Procedures

Since the beginning of the school year, we’ve been closely examining dismissal time at Blott Guy PK-6.  Due to our reconfiguration, it was important for us to determine if our procedures were safe and effective for all students.  From what we’ve seen and from the feedback we’ve received, we feel there is a more efficient way of dismissing our students that will increase their safety and security.

We are responsible for every child’s safety from the moment they are dropped off until the moment they are picked up.  We want to be sure we are doing all that we can to make our students, their parents/guardians and our staff feel safe when they are coming and going from our schools.

Our new dismissal procedures will not only increase safety, it will significantly cut down on the distance our youngest students walk each day when they are leaving our schools.  The new protocols will also allow us to maintain structure at dismissal time.

On Thursday morning, we will be practicing these new dismissal protocols with our staff and students only.  Our bus drivers and busses are included in this trial run as they will also be dismissing in a slightly different manner to speed up our routes.  This Friday, September 28, we will implement our new dismissal procedures. School administration, staff and school security including our resource officer will be involved with daily dismissal procedures.

We encourage you to review the diagrams to familiarize yourself with the new procedures.  For the safety of all of our students, we respectfully request that you use the pick up lines.  Please do not get out of your vehicle when you pick up your child at dismissal time.   Also, please be patient in the parking lots as our students are leaving.

If you have any questions about our new protocols, please call 330-759-0807.
