Liberty students’ artwork to be part of traveling display Art Exhibit VPA United Project

A reception will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, at Mill Creek Park’s D.D. and Velma Davis Education Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Avenue in Youngstown, to showcase a regional art exhibit that features the work of Liberty’s PK-6 students.

Liberty Schools to showcase after school programs, participants at celebration event

The Liberty Local School District, along with Youngstown State University and the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley will host a celebration to highlight the district’s after school programs and showcase the 100 students who participate in them.

Kindergarten students perform chores, raise $120 for Toys for Tots Students count pennies after performing chores.

Through December 10, the kindergarten students were encouraged to complete extra chores at home and school to raise money for charity.  The idea was that students would earn money that would then be donated to those in need. The students raised $120 through the Pennies for Chores Program that benefitted Toys for Tots.

Kindergarten students at Blott Guy PK-6 are learning an important lesson ahead of the holiday season. As the holiday season approaches, it’s natural for children to want the latest toys or holiday treats. However, not all people are fortunate enough to have their basic needs fulfilled, let alone receive presents and snacks.

Sixth grade ELA students sharpen skills by reading to younger students

Every Friday, some of our sixth grade English language arts students in Mrs. Barry's class read to our younger students. Not only are they sharpening their reading skills, they are also building relationships!

Blott Guy PK-6 to collect canned goods for Second Harvest Food Bank PK-6 Food Drive

Blott Guy PK-6’s student council will start its canned good collection on Monday, November 12. Student council hopes to collect more than 1,068 pounds of food, which was the amount donated last year.

Since the beginning of the school year, we’ve been closely examining dismissal time at Blott Guy PK-6. Due to our reconfiguration, it was important for us to determine if our procedures were safe and effective for all students.  From what we’ve seen and from the feedback we’ve received, we feel there is a more efficient way of dismissing our students that will increase their safety and security.


Liberty Schools announces 2018-2019 instructional fees

Liberty Local Schools is significantly increasing its use of educational technology in the classroom in an effort to enhance student learning. This school year, the district will be at a one-to-one Chromebook-to-student ratio at Guy Jr. High and Liberty High School.  All students in grades 7-12 will have their own individual Chromebook.

Resolution #07.23.9950

The Liberty Board of Education Approved an emergency resolution, due to time space and capacity issues, to comply with Ohio Revised Code only within the scope of the agreement with Basinger Auction Service, LLC, and additionally recommended by the Superintendent that the items for the online auction are non-essential and considered to be extra stock of school equipment. Additionally, Bus numbers 1(one), 3 (three) and 17 (seventeen) will be auctioned off by Basinger as well. All three buses are included under this Emergency Resolution.
